Driver Escapes From Dangling Car In Austin In Epic Fashion

Driver from dangling car Texas Saved

A driver, who escaped from a dangling car in Texas, has a good Samaritan and the Austin Fire Department to thank for their quick thinking and bravery. Friday, many passersby in Austin thought they had walked on the set of a big Hollywood movie set when they saw a Toyota SUV dangling from the ninth floor of a parking garage.

The scene got even more dramatic when a man in the driver’s seat reared his head and started pleading for his life. The 24-year-old man was attempting to park when his brakes failed, and he accidentally drove off the side of the building.

The man, whose identity has not been revealed, was screaming for help as his SUV got caught in a high tension wire leaving it dangling off the multi-story car park. Many 911 calls were made to the Austin Fire Department. Another person, who was also parking their car on the 9th floor, saw the incident and rushed to pull the man out of the suspending car.

According to local media, the driver crawled through the sunroof back into the garage. He was scared but not injured. The Austin Fire Department shared several pictures of the incident on Facebook. Under one photo, the Austin Fire Department said:

“The driver was (miraculously) able to climb out of the sunroof and make his way safely back into the garage. Now comes the task of getting the car down…or in, as the case may be”.

Firefighters used a hoist to lower the vehicle to the ground, and a salvage company later removed it. It is not known if first responders cared for the man after his dramatic rescue.

Firefighters also cleaned up the two gallons of gas that had dripped down. Seeing that all ended well, the Austin Fire Department decided to emulate Ghostbusters in their last Facebook post on the matter, which read:

“So who do you call when your car goes through the wire barrier and over the edge of the 9th floor of a parking garage? Why the @austinfiredept of course! The driver was (miraculously) able to climb out of the sunroof and make his way safely back into the garage. Now comes the task of getting the car down…or in, as the case may be. #AFDSpecOps #wegotthis #happeningnow.”

The story has sparked a wave of conspiracy theory online, and some commenters believe that the whole thing was staged.
