Sarah Palin Mocks Democrats Over Russia’s Election Meddling

Sarah Palin is back in the news, and this time she is mocking Democrats and the intelligence community. Last week, the former governor of Alaska rattled some feathers on Team Trump when she blasted him for the Carrier deal.

While President-elect Donald Trump was celebrating the fact that he was able to convince Carrier, an Indiana-based manufacturer, to keep over 1,000 jobs in the state, Palin was slamming him. Palin wrote an angry post calling the deal “crony capitalism” and the “hallmark of corruption” and “socialism.”

Some political experts said that Palin was feuding with Trump as a way to wiggle out of the offer to be his secretary of veterans affairs. This week, Palin is siding with Trump.

After the intelligence community had stated that Russia hacked the DNC to help Trump win the presidential election, the mogul came out swinging. Trump, who always said that he lacks confidence in the experts who once lied and stated that there were weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, did not hold back.

In an interview with FOX News’ host Chris Wallace, Trump said that he believes that the Democrats are behind the newly released reports, which are blaming Vladimir Putin for the hacks. Trump said:

“No, I don’t believe that at all. I think it’s ridiculous. I think it’s just another excuse. I don’t believe it. I don’t know why, and I think it’s just — you know, they talked about all sorts of things. Every week it’s another excuse. We had a massive landslide victory, as you know, in the Electoral College.”

Not afraid of a bit of self-deprecation to grab headlines, Palin wrote on Twitter that she can handle the Russian hackers. She tweeted:

“Russia’s getting out of hand? So says the defeated. Not to worry… remember I can keep an eye on them from here. “

During the 2008 election after being picked as the Republican Party nominee for vice president by John McCain, Palin was widely mocked for her lack of knowledge on public affairs.

Things went from bad to worse, after an interview where Palin stated that since Alaska is not that far from Russia, she is more than qualified to handle Putin. The remark went viral after it was used by Palin impersonator Tina Fey on Saturday Night Live.
