Angelina Jolie on Shiloh-Jolie Tomboy Style – Angelina Jolie has been criticized for letting her daughter dress like a boy. Now, she is saying that it is “not her choice” that her daughter insists on dressing like a boy. The 35 year old actress has six children with her partner, Brad Pitt, who is 46 years old. Their four year old daughter Shiloh recently made headlines when she started to wear boy clothes and wear short hair.
Jolie admitted that her daughter did not like her hair long, and asked her mother to cut her long hair off. Jolie has maintained that she will let her children express their individuality, even if it goes against the social norms. Being a tomboy is not all that bad of a thing, and is fairly common in young women, especially those who feel attached to their fathers.
Jolie has described her daughter as “strong willed” and said that she will let her do as she pleases in regard to the things that she decides to wear.

“’I think people think kids should be a certain way, but I feel they should wear what they feel like wearing and they should express themselves,” Jolie said in a statement. Some have said that they disagree with her saying that the child will turn out gay, but you really cannot fault Jolie for letting her children be who they want to be. She said that Shiloh had begged her to cut off her long hair, and that she finally agreed to do so. Obviously it was not easy for Jolie.
Should you let kids be kids?
Or is Jolie trying too hard to have a real rainbow family complete with straight, gay and lesbian children?

First of all, even if she dresses like a boy, it’s not like she’ll become a lesbian because of it. Kids don’t start showing if they’re homosexual or not from that young, it usually shows until their teens. Second, she may be an extreme tomboy, it may be a phase, or it may not, but anyway, there are people who identify with males and others who identify with females and they’re not plastered all over the tabloids.

Where I do think that the parents should put a line, is on swimming suits. She can use a girl’s swimming suit with a short on if she wishes (as I do), but no boy’s swimming suit only.

I wonder if the parents are afraid of media making contrasts between Shiloh and Zahara, fearing they would create a team mentality like they do Jen and Jolie, IF Shiloh wore pretty dresses. Shiloh could wear clothes a little boyish (girls have pants and shirts, too) but not SO boyish as she does now. Anyway, I think there is a hidden agenda at work here.

r the twins truly diagnosed with down’s syndrome? If so, maybe they are trying to get the son pitt so badly wanted of his own. Children can not go into stores at 4 yrs old and buy clothing. parent’s mold their children by what they teach them and how they allow them to dress, act, etc. Although Jolie’s intentions are good, looks like this kid is headed in a male direction very young. Hope the best for Shiloh either way it goes.
