Angelina Jolie Edwin A. Salt Movie:Angelina Jolie Tom Cruise Replacement Salt Movie-Angelina Jolie is set to replace Tom Cruise in the upcoming Columbia Pictures thriller entitled “Edwin A. Salt.”Tom was dropped from the project last month after reportedly demanding a $20 million salary that was rebuffed by execs at Columbia Pictures.Variety is reporting:

“the rare female who is viable in an action genre that has been almost the exclusive domain of men.”

Jolie will portray the lead character who is a CIA officer accused of being a Russian spy and must elude capture long enough to establish her innocence. Edwin A. Salt will be rewritten and will undergo a title change,but will still open in theaters in 2009.
