I was watching 'Munich' last night and there was a lovemaking scene betwen the protagnist and his wife which really came out of the blue. It made me wonder whether sex scenes are important in movies. Most of the times they are used for publicity on the pretext of forwarding the story line. Wat do u think?

@petesteyn i really support your comment on sex scenes,even i think its just to attrack the people to watch out the movie.

Some times they keep sex scenes in movies to attract the viewers but some times it is the demand of the scenes also.I am agree with that love making scenes may be skip. I was watching one of the movie from 70s, and there two flowers were come closer to show the love making scenes. As Movie is the mirror of the society so we can say that it is the demand of time and story also.

Some Scenes in movies are over rated to the point that it doesn't make sence to have have one. Now when you watch a move that is based on a character that is well known for it then it makes it more a reason to have one. I think the special tv series like on showtime,cinamax and stations of the sort are getting into more of the sex scene plots. I personally love the tv series " Sparticus ". That is a tv series that shows sex in every show.
