According to In Touch, Jessica Simpson wants to walk down the aisle before her ex-husband Nick Lachey does. She’ll have to hurry, now that Lackey has asked Vanessa Minnillo to marry him.

“Jessica is over Nick, but she still wants to be remembered before he is,” a friend said.

The tabloid says that Jessica Simpson is in love with former football player Eric Johnson, who she has been dating for six months. “[Jessica] loves him and wants a family already,” said the friend. “Her goal is to beat Nick and Vanessa to the altar.”

Even though she and Eric haven’t known each other long, Jessica is not letting that slow down her plans.

“Even though it hasn’t even been a year yet, Jessica feels like she’s known Eric for a long time,” said the friend. “For the first time ever, she is with a man she trusts and feels that she can just be herself.”
