Daniel Radcliffe has bought a penthouse in Manhattan, New York for £2.2 million, it has been revealed.

The Harry Potter star was granted access to his estimated £25 million fortune when he turned 18 in July, but has barely spent any of his cash.

Radcliffe is to rent the apartment out for £10,000 a month until he moves to the city next September when he appears in play Equus on the Broadway stage.

The luxury property was designed by architect Jean Nouvel and is set over 1,843 sq ft with glass walls and two bedrooms.

The building, which also boasts a swimming pool and concierge, has been dubbed the "sexiest new development" in the Soho area.
