A wild scene played out in California man, as a 34-year-old man named Aaron David Avitan, who had initially stolen a police car, drove it to a local college campus and got onto a school bus, attempting to drive away with it after ditching the cop car.

However, his plans were foiled by the very students on the bus, who were brave enough to jump and tackle the attacker and managed to hold him down until police arrived to arrest him.

The incident started with an investigation into a vehicle accident, during which the driver took the opportunity to jump into the car of an investigating officer and took off with it.

He then drove to California State University and used the car to commandeer a bus full of 10 students.

In confusion, the man even managed to create the impression that he was an actual officer of the law, fooling the bus driver, Mary Speck, who immediately got out of the vehicle and left it in the hands of the carjacker.

Speck told a local media: “He got a little aggressive and he demanded that I get out of the bus now, so he jumped in and took off with my bus.”

At one point, students took advantage of the fact that the bus had stopped, and one of them started choking the driver, while another turned off the engine and grabbed the keys.

After the altercation, the students fled the scene and left Avitan trapped inside the bus.

Onlookers rushed to hold down the doors and prevent him from escaping, and in a few minutes officers were already on the scene and took over the situation, taking the man into custody.

As of now, his motives are unknown. Online commenters have dubbed the incident idiotic and said that the man should have thought twice before pushing things so far.
