Eva Mendes Baby Name

Eva Mendes who never announced that she was pregnant, has not revealed the name of her baby with Ryan Gosling.

But leave it to the folks at TMZ to get their hands on the baby’s birth certificate. According to the document, obtained by the entertainment website, Mendes and Gosling welcomed a baby girl on September 12 and her name is Esmeralda Amada Gosling.

While celebrities like Mila Kunis and Kim Kardashian have all opted to give birth at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, baby Esmeralda Amada Gosling was born at the Providence Saint John’s Health Center in Santa Monica.

So how did the parents come up with the name Esmeralda Amada Gosling?

There is a big possibility that Mendes picked the middle name Amada because she played a character by the name of Amada Juarez in the 2007 film We Own the Night, which she starred in alongside Mark Wahlberg and Joaquin Phoenix.

As for Esmerelda it be due to the couple’s love of Disney.

Disney’s The Hunchback of Notre Dame, main character is Esmerelda and the duo apparently went on their first date at the happiest place on earth in 2011.

Furthermore, Gosling was part of The Mickey Mouse Club with pop stars and actors, Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears from 1993 to 1995.

Another reason, the 40-year-old actress might be attached to the named Esmeralda might be because she played a woman with that name in an episode of the TV series V.I.P.

Close sources to Gosling say he is in love with baby Esmeralda and has not left Mendes’ side since she gave birth. The insider told US Weekly:

“He is a doting, hands-on dad. Ryan is thrilled it’s a little girl. Ryan’s number one priority is now his family. He’s accomplished everything work-wise that he had hoped and this is the next step in his life.”

Many slammed the name because they deemed that Eva Mendes picked a name that is too Hispanic. It seems that people have forgotten that both of Mendes’ parents are from Cuba.
