George P. Bush Backs Donald Trump In Surprising Twist

George P. Bush backs Donald Trump for president, and he is pleading with his fellow Republicans to do the same. The question being posed by many is, if he can not convince his family, how will he rally frustrated Republicans behind Trump?

Mr. Bush, who is the current Commissioner of the Texas General Land Office, is the son of Jeb Bush, a former presidential candidate and governor of Florida.

It is impossible to forget the long list of insults Mr. Trump hurled at Mr. Jeb Bush, (he called him a loser, Mexican lover, and low energy), his brother, former President George W. Bush, and even his wife, Columba Bush, during the primaries.

It appeared that the Bush clan had not been able to forgive the real estate mogul because none of them attended the convention in Ohio. The truth of the matter is that George P. Bush is the only person from his family to endorse Trump.

In a speech to the state GOP activists Saturday, Bush said it was time to move on from the eventful primaries and unite behind the nominee. He said:

“From Team Bush, it’s a bitter pill to swallow, but you know what? You get back up and you help the man that won, and you make sure that we stop Hillary Clinton.”

It is believed that the U.S. Navy Reserve officer and real estate investor spoke highly of the Republican presidential candidate for two reasons. The first one being the fact that he is under pressure from state officials. He is Texas GOP’s victory chairman, which is responsible for overseeing the party’s statewide campaign in November, and it looked odd that he was not backing Trump.

The second is that Bush might have been trying to impress or make peace with Trump aide, Matt Mowers, who delivered a rousing speech at the event.
