Kate Gosselin Kate Plus 8 Reality TV Show – It appears as if Kate Gosselin will be returning to television with her entire family in tow. Her eight children have been cleared to work on the upcoming reality television show titled “Kate Plus 8.” That family had previously appeared on the hit reality television show “Jon and Kate Plus 8,” before the show was cut short due to the divorce of Jon and Kate Gosselin.
“Each child is individually permitted, and they need to be renewed every six months,” Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry spokesman Troy Thompson recently stated.
Jon and Kate Gosselin had previously come under fire after Pennsylvania labor officials learned that the couple had not obtained permits for the children during their previously television appearances. After a quick investigation, the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry has decided that no charges will be filed for the previous violation, however, Kate Gosselin’s talent agency was required to sign a document stating that they would ensure all children have permits before appearing on future television shows, or else the previous case could be re-opened and charges could be filed. The mix-up apparently came when producers from “Jon and Kate Plus 8″ decided that since the cameras were only filming the daily lives of the children, permits would not be required. The Department of Labor and Industry did not agree, and classified their participation as “work.”
A minimum of 15 percent of the children’s earnings must be placed in a irrevocable trust account, which can not be withdrawn from until the children have turned 18.
Several family members have stepped forward in recent months claiming that they had concerns over how the children were treated during the taping of the reality television show. In one report, the Gosselin’s reportedly faked Christmas, waking the children up one morning and telling them that Santa had come, so the cameras could capture a genuine reaction by the children. They were not told until the taping had finished that it was not actually Christmas morning, and that they would celebrate Christmas on another day as well.
“Can you imagine how confused eight little kids were that morning?” asked Kevin Krieder, husband of Kate Gosselin’s sister-in-law.

This woman has not learned one damned thing….to do another show, after what the first show cost their family, is insane, and just shows how greed and narcissism drive her. Television is not the only means to support her kids, she is certainly not the first woman to have 8 kids, how did the rest of the world do it without a reality show? Any more misery that comes her way is her own fault.
The show did NOT cost her her family. Her and Jon are 2 TOTAL opposites, and it was bound to happen eventually. Jon CHEATED on Kate. She handeled it how she saw fit, even though others, like me, disagree with it. But to saw otherwise about what cost her her family, well to me THAT’S insane.
I guess the thing that gets me the most in all of this is that Kate has pushed everyone who should be close to her away—-her parents, her brother, other siblings, close friends who helped them through the early days with the babies and so on.
I don’t hate either of them but do think it is time for her to realize that it is over and get on with life — for the children’s sake. Is fame worth what will happen to them–Maddy especially, who did have issues being on the show and with life in general. The older girls are at an age now when they do not want their ‘business’ paraded before everyone.
Like it or not, Jon is a part of the kids’ lives. While I agree that he messed up during the divorce, I will also state that Kate treated him awfully–certainly abused him verbally! But he was always a caring Daddy to those kids and hope that can remain the same now–for the kids’ sake!
These kids will be the losers in the long run, sadly. I watched the show before but will not be a regular follower of this new show. It really is over.

I agree totally with you. I attempted to watch, but only saw Kate in too revealing tops, marching around yelling orders. One scene in kitchen where she rants, “I am the only one that matters, I am the only one ……..well you get the picture. She admits to being a bit quirky and she got that right. Example, maintenance man in kitchen who had to move himself and his little toolbox just because kids were eating. Won’t watch again. Too…..boring. If about the kids, I sure didn’t see. Kate keeps talking about the “guys who follow and take pictures” – I saw three. HA! HA! She wishes she had hundreds, when actually, no one cares!!! Get another life Kate and get a job like other people do. You have no talent for TV.
why call him “husband of Kate Gosselin’s sister-in-law.” and not simply kate’s brother?

Kevin Krieder is one of the best advocates for these children. One of the keystones in a parent/child relationships is trust. The faked christmas is just one of many incidents that erode this trust and leave
a lasting effect on the relationships in this family. Not allowing for individual privacy (while potty training) is another. This will all come back to bite these parents when the children get older.
Kevin Kreider needs to get a life. What a terrible thing. Two Christmases. I am sure the kids were devasted.
