Kate Norley John Oliver Engaged – John Oliver and Kate Norley took what was supposed to be a vacation to the Caribbean and quickly turned it into much more than a vacation when Oliver decided that he was going to ask his longtime girlfriend to marry him. Most popular for his time on the Daily Show, Oliver and Norley have been dating since 2008 when they met at the Republican National Convention. Oliver was appearing for “The Daily Show” and Norley was there campaigning.

Life has changed for the couple since Norley left active duty and is now enjoying a slower pace of life. She had served as a medic in the Army, and adjusting back into civilian life has been tough for her. Oliver has jokingly said that he feels emasculated because his wife has done something valuable with her life, and he is just a comedy reporter on TV.

The couple has said that they will wed sometime next year, and are in no hurry to rush the ceremony. They have not announced where they will be married at this time.

“I finally made a move,” Norley, an Iraq War vet, laughingly admits. Oliver replied by saying that “he got seduced.” Hopefully they enjoy a long life together.
