Mel Gibson Car Crash – Mel Gibson cannot seem to keep himself out of the headlines. In the wake of the release of the audio tapes, you would think that he would be doing everything in his power to keep his name out of the media. The controversial actor lost control of his 2008 Maserati Quattroporte and hit a rocky hillside in a rural area of Malibu Canyon on Sunday night, according to statements that were released by the California Highway Patrol.
Police have confirmed that alcohol was not a factor in the crash like it was in the notorious 2006 DUI stop in which Gibson made a number of anti-Semitic comments.

“He was very cooperative and respectful. There were no objective symptoms of intoxication or impairment,” the department said in a statement.

Gibson was not sure how the vehicle drifted, and the road that he was driving on was reportedly a very dangerous one. He was alone in the car at 8:35 PM when he crashed into a rocky hillside. There were no injuries, and the car sustained “moderate” damage. Gibson opted to have the car towed, and received a ride home from an unidentified friend.

Gibson is currently embroiled in an ongoing child custody battle with his ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva. She taped the actor making threatening phone calls earlier this year, stating that she was afraid for her life and was looking to create proof. The tapes have since been released to the media, and Gibson has come under fire once again.
