Natlie Cole is a massive talent but in 1975 when Cole won her first Grammys, she was also struggling with sobriety, and didn't even enter treatment for a decade. Amy Winehouse was awarded because of her exceptional talent despite her personal demons and is even presently in treatment seeking sobriety. If the award show had anything to do with celebrating personal issues, which it does not, you could only conclude that they were congratulating a person who decided to tackle her addictions. However it does not and has nothing to with the Grammys. No one is excusing Amy's past behavior but Cole's statement is complete hypocrisy. The Bottomline:
