Nicholas Brooks Sylvie Cachay Boyfriend Arrested

After they heard in court that the charges against the man who killed Sylvie Cachay would stay secret for one month, her brothers broke down into tears.

A grand jury officially indicted Nicholas Brooks who is 24 years old and the son of the man who wrote the Oscar-winning song “You light up my life” back in the 70’s.

Patrick Orlando, one of Cachay’s closest friends, said that he is having trouble just accepting the fact that she will not be coming back. Patrick and David, two brothers who are very close, wrapped their arms around each other in a show of support during an emotionally stressful time.

The Cachay family lawyer said that while Brooks and Cachay had dated in the past, they were certainly not serious or steady. She stated that Brooks was not only a pariah, but a man who preyed on women.

Cachay was found dead laying her tub which was overflowing with water at the time inside Soho House, an upscale hotel.

She was wearing a black shirt when police found her and there were bruises on her neck as well as a bite on her hand which mystified police at first but then were eventually led to Brooks.
