Princess Beatrice Royal Wedding Hat Bidding War

The hat heard round the world has now reached in excess of $30,000 US on the Ebay auction site.

Of course we’re talking about that antler type chapeau sported by Britain’s Princess Beatrice during her cousin William’s marriage a few weeks ago.

People around the world marveled and joked about the hat that took on a celebratory status all to itself and the princess gained new notoriety as well.

The hat has now gone up on the Ebay website for auction to raise money for UNICEF and Children In Crisis. Those two charities are favorites of the royals and that hat is bringing in some needed revenue.

Actually that hat may go for far more as it has made history in more than one sense. The video of Prince William and his wife Kate’s marriage was seen by more than 2 billion people on the planet Earth. Add to that 100s of millions more who can see recordings online and the hat has taken on a life of it’s own.

A hundred years from now this hat might be the symbol of an event that had the world come together for one day of peace and fun.

It may turn into a tradition that at every Royal Wedding from now on the ladies may try to out-hat one another.
