Sienna Miller made probably the most expensive phone call in human history.

Well she didn’t spend 100,000 pounds but she’s collecting that much British money as she’s settled a suit regarding the news site, News of the World that admitted they had hacked her phone voicemail messages.

The tabloid had hacked her voicemail and that of others and Miller was in battle with them in a high court and the Rupert Murdoch News Group Newspapers had to admit they hacked the phones of a number of public figures.

It’s a record breaking settlement and it’s not over yet as more public figures are now going to seek compensation.

The roster of high profile celebs and public figures who are going after their piece of Murdoch’s pie is mounting and involves many who were involved in matters of a royal nature. These include James Hewitt who had an affair with Princes Diana and Koo Stark the former girlfriend of Prince Andrew.

One wonders what was the News of the World thinking when they actually sanctioned and engaged in the hacking of people’s private voicemail? They must have known it was a crime and conspiracy at that. Not only can the owners of the voicemail’s sue but the people who sent them messages can sue as well.

Some victims won’t settle out of court and are going for the entire shebang and we could see lawsuits ranging in the millions, tens of millions and more.

It sure will put a slam on Murdoch’s tabloid empire and that should teach him and other tabloids a lesson about the poison they publish.
