The Danish Girl:Einar Wegener Greta Wegener Nicole Kidman Charlize Theron - The Danish Girl was originally a novel that is being turned into a movie in which Nicole Kidman and Charlize Theron will play lovers.The Danish Girl,was written by David Ebershoff and it tells the real life story of Einar Wegener, the world’s first postop male transsexual. Nicole Kidman will play Einar while Theron portray the artist wife, Gerda.Einar underwent 4 sexual reassignment surgeries in 1930 after he began modeling as a female for his wife. The cross-dressing portraits became an instant hit.
Einar, who changed his name to Lili Elbe, died in 1931 of complications from the fifth surgery.
