Whoopi Goldberg Polanski Roman Comment

Whoopi Goldberg Polanski Roman Comment – Whoopi Goldberg is under fire for saying on The View yesterday that Roman Polanski was not guilty of “rape-rape”.The film maker who has been a fugitive since 1977,was arrested in Switzerland on Saturday over his conviction for unlawful sex with a minor.Goldberg said:
“I know it wasn’t rape-rape. It was something else but I don’t believe it was rape-rape.He went to jail and when they let him out he was like, ‘You know what, this guy’s going to give me a hundred years in jail. I’m not staying’. So that’s why he left. We’re a different kind of society, we see things differently. Would I want my 14-year-old having sex with somebody? Not necessarily, no.”
After being dubbed an “apologist for rape” by the media Goldberg revealed today that she was only trying to get the “facts straight” and added:
“Some people got the idea that I was condoning what he did. I’m going to be very clear: I was trying to make sure we had our facts straight because that’s my job – particularly about what he was arrested for and what he was charged with, which was unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor, not rape, which was my point.”
Polanski was charged with rape by use of drugs, perversion, sodomy, lewd and lascivious act upon a child but that child Samantha Geimer has forgiven him and thinks he is not a danger to society. What is your opinion on Polanski’s acts?
That’s all we have for now on Whoopi Goldberg Polanski.
