Actress Jada Pinkett Smith opened up and talked about the experience she went through when her oldest child, Jaden Smith, decided to leave the family home and start living on his own when he was only 15 years old.
During an episode of Jada’s show, Red Table Talk, on the social networking site Facebook, the wife of Will Smith pointed out that in her opinion every child has different needs.
The 49-year-old actress described the moment when Jaden told her about his choice to live alone as one of the hardest ones in her life.
Nevertheless, she agreed to let him go since in her opinion he was mature enough, and he was perfectly capable of dealing with his own life by himself even at that young age.
According to Jaden, the most important thing for him was to escape the stress that seems typical for every kid with famous parents in Hollywood.
He shared that moving out allowed him to truly appreciate the fun times he did have with his family back at home.
Throughout the years, the way that Will and Jada have raised their children has been questioned on multiple occasions.
Many expressed opinions that they are too liberal as parents and even The Fresh Prince of Bel‑Air star himself at one point admitted that this could have been a mistake.
Nevertheless, the famous actor could say nothing but praises for his son Jaden. Will also described his child as being fearless in life.
He also admitted to being scared and terrified for his progeny as a parent, but he accepted Jaden’s decision to live his life by his own rules.
Regardless of what naysayers argue, the family seems to be quite close and doing well. The proud dad recently remixed his teenage son’s hit song “Icon.”
Jaden’s success as an artist proves that he made the right move.
