According to new information released by authorities investigating the murder of rapper XXXTenacion, the shooter probably did know who his victim was because the young hip-hop star was well-known in the area.

An attorney representing the musician, David Bogenschutz, stated on Tuesday that his client was murdered shortly after he visited a bank to acquire the means for a new motorbike he wanted to buy.

The attorney explained the “Look at Me!” rapper was at the motorcycle shop in South Florida because he was searching for a new vehicle, just before the tragedy happened.

Bogenschutz also added that the hip-hop artist was determined to buy a new bike, but detectives are still looking into different theories of the case.

XXXTenacion, whose name is Jahseh Onfroy, was approached and shot by two criminals while he was setting off the Deerfield Beach dealership.

The police version of what happened is that the 20-year-old rapper was driving away from the parking lot of the dealership in his costly BMW when disaster struck — the two men reached him and wounded him fatally.

Although police arrested a suspect named Dedrick D. Williams Wednesday, authorities still believe that he just assisted in the murder of the Florida native.

For the time being, the main suspects are described to be two black men with sweatshirts. It is also believed that the wrongdoers used a dark-colored SUV for transportation and the one who was shooting wore a red mask.

The staff of the Deerfield Beach dealership, Onfroy’s place of death, organized a night-long tribute on Tuesday night to honor the life of the deceased.

A representative for the dealership also paid tribute to XXXTenacion on Facebook. The post said the rapper would be deeply missed and that employees of the show were really saddened by the loss of their good friend and client.
