
Argentine singer Federico “Fede” Dorcaz was murdered at 29. Mexican police say the crime took place on October 9th and believe it was a robbery gone wrong.
Dorcas was known for his association with the popular YouTuber Mariana Ávila. He was also a model, actor, and singer who was set to appear on the Mexican reality TV show Las Estrellas Bailan En Hoy, the Mexican equivalent of Strictly Come Dancing.
He was scheduled to make his debut on the show’s launch episode next week.
The Details Of The Attack
The horrific news was initially revealed on social media by a Mexican news outlet before being picked up by traditional media publications.
According to TVyNovelas and Agencia México, Dorcas was driving an SUV in Mexico City’s Daniel Garza neighborhood when he was intercepted by two men on motorcycles.
The police report indicates the suspects followed him for some distance before attempting to rob him. The singer’s cause of death is believed to be a bullet shot in the neck during the attack.
Investigation And Public Appeal
CCTV footage from the area shows four men who fled the scene on two motorcycles after the attack. Mexican authorities have revealed that, thus far, the suspects have not yet been arrested and are asking the public for assistance in identifying the men who took part in this evil act.
A Career Cut Short For Fede Dorcaz
Dorcas had been living in Mexico for just two years and was experiencing a major career boom thanks to his participation in Las Estrellas and his growing presence in the Mexican entertainment industry. Along with his girlfriend, Mariana Ávila, the pair were viral sensations on social media and had drawn the attention of many TV producers.

Recent social media posts show Dorcas and Ávila preparing for a big television debut days before the murder.
Mariana Ávila, mourning the loss of her partner, released a brief, heartfelt tribute, writing, “You loved Mexico with all your being, just as everyone who knew you loved you.”
Las Estrellas Bailan En Hoy offered condolences to Fede’s parents and Mariana Ávila. On its official Instagram page, it said: “Fede leaves a huge void in our team. His memory and his passion will continue to inspire us forever.”
At his funeral, his parents and his girlfriend tearfully pushed for justice.
Numerous fans took to social media to mourn a rising star who always made time to exchange with them when he was traveling in places like Panama.
