According to recent rumors, President Donald Trump apparently tossed Starburst candies in the direction of German Chancellor Angela Merkel when they were attending the G7 meeting that took place in Canada recently.

The strange exchange happened when the politicians were gathered together for the important summit.

Apparently, the moment was captured in a memorable photograph that went viral over the Internet and on social media.

In the picture, Trump can be seen sitting in a chair with his arms tightly folded on his chest. Various other national leaders attending the meeting are standing around him.

The Eurasia Group President Ian Bremmer described the situation during his appearance on CBS This Morning by saying Trump was just sitting there with his arms crossed and it was clear to everyone he was not pleased by the rest of the politicians grouping against him and pleading for him to sign the document that was staying in front of him.

After a while, the 45th U.S. president changed his mind and agreed to place his signature on the papers. He then proceeded to stand up and reached for his suit jacket pockets, from where he drew two pieces of candy. Trump then reportedly threw the sweets on the table in front of Merkel and said to her: “Here, Angela. Don’t say I never give you anything”.

The alleged incident happened shortly before the leader of the United States left the summit ahead of its official closure and boarded his plane to Singapore, a move that generated some controversy in the press the following days.

The summit had a lot of interesting incidents but nothing can beat when Trump suggested to French President Emmanuel Macron that France leaves the European Union in order to get great trade deals with America in April when he visited the White House.

Critics say that Trump is embracing Vladimir Putin‘s views by trying to divide Western democracies.
