And at this point, it looks like things are done for good. Recent reports indicate that Kim Kardashian has officially filed documents to be legally single. The fashion maven has no intention of getting back together with the father of her children.
Things between them were looking hopeful a few months ago. However, that was apparently just a brief period and one that did not paint the whole picture.
It is not exactly clear what has been going on between the two in the last weeks. Despite Kanye’s various attempts to make their problems more public, the reality TV star has not moved.
Some have criticized him for that. However, others have been more understanding, claiming that the rapper is obviously going through a lot in his life right now.
Kim Kardashian has been more reserved on her end. She has not been engaging any of the public comments that have been going around about the situation. According to some of her fans, that might have been for the better too.
Kim Kardashian regrets asking Kanye West to dump the MAGA red hat.
However, in an interview with former New York Times writer Bari Weiss, Kardashian expressed some regrets.
The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star says that she should not have asked West to be less open about his support for former President Donald Trump. The conversation also took on the role of the so-called “cancel culture” in our society.
The 41-year-old mother of four told Weiss: “Why should he take that [MAGA hat] off if that’s what he believes in? Why can’t he wear that on TV?. Half of the country voted for him, so clearly other people like him.”
She continued: “If I worried about every last thing that someone said and I had to try to change it, then I would never be me. Anyone wouldn’t be them!”
Kardashian went on to say: “I was very nervous. I didn’t want him to wear the red hat. I remember other people were around, and it became a thing where he wasn’t going to go on because he wanted to be who he is. I’m very neutral, but that night I was very forceful with him and argued with him like, ‘You have to take that hat off.’”
In a Thanksgiving rant video, West said that the red hat made things harder for his marriage.
Kardashian wants freedom from West to become legally single.
Despite the conciliatory tone in the interview, Kardashian has been making moves to get her freedom back.
A source close to the business mogul told Page Six: “Kim is making a statement by doubling down that she’s single. She thinks it’s strange that Kanye keeps saying he wants her back, but all the while, he’s got the [22-year-old] model at his Malibu house.”
The model in question is named Vinetria and has been linked to rap superstar for a few months. According to reports, while West professes his love for Kardashian publicly, he has not done the work privately for reconciliation to be on the table.
Kardashian stated in court documents: “Irreconcilable differences have existed and continue to exist between [West] and me, which have caused our marriage to irretrievably break down. No counseling or reconciliation effort will be of any value at this time.”
She also added: “[West] and I both deserve the opportunity to build new lives. Therefore, I am asking that my request to bifurcate and terminate our marital status be granted.”
And if this was not clear enough, the papers also read: “[Kardashian] has no desire to reconcile with [West] and wants their marriage terminated. Irreconcilable differences have led to the irremediable breakdown of the marriage, and there is no possibility of saving the marriage through counseling or other means. The continued maintenance of technical marital status between [West] and [Kardashian] serves no useful purpose, and there is no reason to maintain the legal relationship.”
Kardashian is said to be dating Saturday Night Live comedian Pete Davidson.
