It looks like Elon Musk might be having a change of heart.
Elon Musk Apologizes for Trump Attacks: Is a Truce Coming?
The billionaire tech mogul and X (formerly Twitter) owner admitted he may have gone overboard in his online feud with President Donald Trump. “They went too far,” Musk wrote recently on his social media platform, referencing some of the jabs he fired off during their public clash. And if you’ve been watching the back-and-forth between the two, you know it’s been spicy.
Their fallout started when Musk stepped away from his White House role and publicly bashed Trump’s massive tax bill, calling it a “disgusting abomination.” He even encouraged Americans to flood their reps with calls to kill the bill, warning it could tank the economy by year’s end.
Trump, never one to let a dig go unanswered, fired back in true Trump fashion—saying Musk had “lost his mind” and threatening to yank billions in government contracts from Musk’s companies, especially SpaceX, which stands to earn a reported $38 billion.
At one point, Musk even dropped a bombshell by implying—without evidence—that Trump was linked to Jeffrey Epstein in unreleased files.
Now? It seems cooler heads might prevail. Trump told the New York Post that he was “a little disappointed” in Musk’s outburst but insisted there were “no hard feelings.” He even hinted at a potential reconciliation.
Even Vice President JD Vance has weighed in, saying Trump doesn’t want a drawn-out feud and has already talked with Musk about keeping the peace—and possibly keeping his political support.
Let’s not forget, Musk was once Trump’s biggest campaign donor and even led the high-profile Department of Government Efficiency (yep, the “DOGE” task force), though he stepped down after just 129 days. While he’s gone, many of his hires are still hanging around in federal agencies.
Republicans are reportedly pushing hard for the two to patch things up. And while Democrats are sitting back with popcorn, everyone’s watching to see whether one of the most surprising political bromances of the decade is truly over—or just on pause.
So, how did the two billionaires get there?
Elon Musk vs Donald Trump: Why Their Billionaire Bromance Just Imploded
What started as a power duo of political convenience exploded into a full-blown feud, complete with government threats and bruised egos.
Things got really serious when the president finally broke his silence aboard Air Force One, casually threatening to take a “fair look” at Elon Musk’s billions in government subsidies.
Translation? Tesla and SpaceX could be in hot water. “It’s a lot of money,” Trump said, referring to the generous tax credits tied to electric vehicles. And with his administration pushing a bill that slashes those incentives, Trump seems more than ready to turn off the money tap.
Musk, of course, did not take it quietly. The Tesla boss slammed the bill for cutting EV perks while leaving oil and gas subsidies untouched, calling it unfair and bloated with “disgusting pork.” He even threw some shade, saying no bill can be both big and beautiful. Ouch.
Elon Musk Says He Saved Trump’s 2024 Win—Then Calls Him Out Over Epstein
But things quickly turned personal. Musk claimed Trump owes him the 2024 election win and warned that while Trump only has a few years left in office, he (Musk) plans to stick around for another 40.
He even dragged in rapper Kanye West (yes, really) and later dropped a nuclear-level accusation—suggesting Trump’s name is in the Epstein files. The internet predictably caught fire.
While Musk taunted Trump to “make my day” and hinted at halting SpaceX’s Dragon spacecraft (which NASA depends on), Trump brushed it all off with a shrug and a Truth Social post saying he doesn’t mind the betrayal—but Musk should’ve done it sooner.
Meanwhile, Tesla stock took a hit, political circles are buzzing, and Musk’s once-glowing golden key from the Oval Office feels more like a cursed relic.
